What a year 2021 has been ! Come join us in our year review

2021 has very possibly been the so-called year of tourism recovery. However, the new COVID variants, as well as some government policies, have put the brakes on the sector’s definitive take-off. There have been ups and downs during the whole year, with significant differences in performance between continents. Asia and China in particular, still require quarantines, so the markets are almost entirely closed.

Even so, the spirit of collaboration between the different companies, organizations, and industry leaders worldwide has been exemplary, even in the most challenging moments of the pandemic. This resilient attitude was more than palpable in our participation in the Tourism Innovation Summit in Seville. One of the industry’s leading research firms, Arival, delighted us with outstanding sessions and multiple opportunities to connect with our industry colleagues.

Despite this scenario of uncertainty, 2021 has been the year in which Globick has definitely taken off. We have signed several strategic agreements with leading suppliers of activities, resellers, and other players in the tourism industry that have allowed us to expand our product portfolio and distribution capabilities worldwide. In this regard, in September 2021, we announced an agreement with NTT Data to launch Globick’s distribution platform. Moreover, just a few weeks ago, we announced a strategic alliance with the leader in technology solutions for the travel industry, Juniper.
We also signed new resellers in 5 different markets. Our pipeline for travel companies integrating our APIs is a good sign for future sales.
In the field of sports and with stadiums open again, we have renewed our contract with Futbol Club Barcelona, started the Premier League sales, and expanded to other major worldwide events.

Looking ahead to 2022, we feel more prepared than ever to strengthen our position in the sector by focusing our efforts on closing more deals, attracting new clients, and doubling our investment.
New supplier integrations, improved APIs, and new versions of our recommendation engine will follow.

COVID will continue to be present in our life and our industry, but this won’t make us lose energy pursuing our goals. Travel is one of the biggest industries worldwide. The desire to explore is embedded into the human brain, and that will never change.

A final word to our team. You have been outstanding during the whole year, both in Barcelona and Hong Kong offices. Your passion and dedication have been the key to making this challenging 2021 a successful one.
